POSSUMLead recovery

Ghosteddoesn't meandead.

POSSUM is the lead recovery engine MADITECH is building for car dealerships. It is being designed to go back for the aged, ghosted, no-show and unsold leads in your CRM, find a real reason to reach out, and hand anyone who answers back to a salesperson.

Part of the MADITECH marsupial family, next to JOEY.

The back room of every CRM

Leads that went quiet with no sold or lost outcome. Appointments that never showed. People who walked the lot and left. Nobody is working them, and some of them still want a car. POSSUM is being built for that room.

Four recovery buckets

Not every old lead. Four kinds of quiet.

POSSUM is not being built to blast every record that got old. It sorts dormant leads by why they went quiet, because each reason calls for a different way back in.

01

Aged internet leads

Internet and campaign leads that stopped moving and never reached a sold or lost outcome.

GoalRestart the conversation

02

No-show appointments

Customers who booked a time, did not arrive and never rebooked. They already raised a hand once.

GoalReset the appointment

03

Unsold showroom

People who visited in person and left. The objection in the notes shapes the second look.

GoalA better fit or structure

04

Orphaned customers

Customers whose salesperson left or changed stores, and who never got a clean handoff.

GoalIntroduce the new owner honestly

How it is designed to work

Don't follow up. Find a new reason to talk.

Time passing is not a reason to message someone. The plan is for POSSUM to look for something that actually changed, and only then build the way back in.

  • The price of the vehicle they looked at has moved since they went quiet.
  • The unit is still on the lot, or a closer match just arrived.
  • They came back to look at inventory after going dark.
  • Their trade, payoff or timing has changed.
  • The salesperson who owned them is no longer the right owner.

The path a lead takes

  1. 1

    Dormant

Every lead that went quiet without an outcome.

  2. 2

    Eligible

Opt-outs, active deals and anyone being worked are taken out first.

  3. 3

    Has a reason

Something real changed that is worth telling them.

  4. 4

    Replied

The customer answers. The recovery work is done.

  5. 5

    Back to a salesperson

A person takes the conversation from here.

Nocturnal by design

The sorting happens at night. The talking does not.

Close of day

Read the day's CRM changes and pick out the leads that just went dormant.

Overnight

Sort them into buckets, look for signals, and prepare the reason each customer might care now.

Before the floor opens

Drop anyone who is not eligible and hand the team a short recovery list worth working. Customers are only contacted inside normal contact windows.

Illustration of the idea behind POSSUM, not a photo of a product: quiet leads go in, one warm conversation comes out to a person.

Guardrails

Old leads are not permission to spam.

A recovery tool needs stricter rules than "this record is old". These are the gates POSSUM is being designed around from the start.

Hard gate

Opt-out first

A customer who opted out stays out. Going dormant does not reset consent.

Timing gate

Contact windows

Working at night is about preparation. Nobody gets a message at night because of it.

Quality gate

A real reason

No "just checking in" volume. If nothing changed, the lead waits.

Ownership gate

No collisions

POSSUM stays out of conversations JOEY, a salesperson or another campaign is already having.

Exit gate

Hand off and stop

Once a customer is talking again, recovery ends and the normal sales process takes over.
